I love you Lama. I know you are mindful of those who are stuck, oppressed, as I am. And I dedicate whatever goodness I may gain in asking for your help, to be applied to the general amnesty of anyone in anyplace, under the oppressive demon of my own impure view. Please liberate anyone at all who is suffering this particular kind of agony, right now, right away.
May the boundaries of your great pavilion, your great parasol of deflection, instantaneously overreach and shield the minds and hearts of all beings who need protection, of anyone who is like me, helpless, wind-twisted, exhausted, afraid. Be their defense attorney and jury and liberate them, liberate me, by unlocking the heart from the scourge, obliterating that devil whose name is Oblivion Ignorance Unending Pain. And even though I know it is simply impossible for you to actually liberate anyone, for if you could, without question you would have done so, according to your nature, I ask that you never withhold the white hot bliss-drenched heat of your omniscience from providing a remedy, a relief, and unbreakable ease from the heart that suffers. Be my refuge, and in so doing, be the refuge of every single confusion, right now. Immediately.
If there ever was a kind of shelter and shield, whose name is Result, I call upon You, all Shelters and Shields in a single Person, execute your Magic Powers on My Friend, on Me. Astonish the world of closeted and cloistered hearts with impossible miracles. Fill in every gap in understanding with the profound honey-sweet glue of your Love and Compassion. Turn Lead into Gold. Make War and Dissonance into Fellowship and Parties. Annihilate the Devil called Doubt with the Unchanging Angel Warrior of Correct View and exhaust the credit card of of your Goodness on My Friend, on Me, that I and any other heart that could be, will never ever suffer, like this.
There is a story in the Bible or a battle, perhaps in metaphor, perhaps no, with a shintu kokyur consequence, which began with a Holy Proclamation that largely sums the tenor of my prayer, tonight. It comes from King David on the occasion of his contest with the giant Goliath. Honestly, I cannot judge what transpired there. But his words and the music of their power I invoke against the Mental Goliath Demons of pain:
You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of my Result Refuge, the Angel of the Throngs of Suffering Beings, whom you are tormenting. This day my Result Refuge will hand you over to me, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Mental Torments to the beings in every realm, and the whole world will know that there is suffering, that there is a cause for this suffering, that there is an end to this suffering, and that there is a path to end this suffering. All Beings will know that it is not by sword or spear that Freedom is realized; for the battle is the Correct View's, and she will give all of you Torments into the hands of all Suffering Beings.
By way of clarification, may it never ever ever ever be mistaken, that I refer to any actual violence in the world. That violence is useless and obviously a great mistake. This violence is only that described by that Holy Sky-Flying Angel of Great Compassion, Lord Shantideva, Lord of My Heart, when he said:
We are locked in combat
With mental affliction, and in war
Many wounds are sustained.
Ignore then any pains
That might come; smash
The foes of anger and such.
Conquering these is the thing
That makes a warrior; the rest
Are killing only corpses
So in the heart of My Friend, of Me, may the urge arise to completely demolish all Ignorance, forever, for all Beings to whom this applies.
I am mostly a dunce. I am always thinking that I have some great understanding while I trample my vows and perpetuate the misery of all beings. May the substantial taint of my own self-interest never ever diminish this prayer. May it be written and read only for the benefit of My friend and remain untainted by my own oceanic stupidity and short-sightedness.
